The
first Saturday of November is designated as Georgia’s State Day of
Service. Each chapter is asked to
participate in a service project of their choosing that fits within the current
national initiatives. This year, one of
the primary focus areas was Elder Care.
The Omicron Kappa Zeta Chapter of College Park, GA has partnered with
Summerset Assisted Living Facility and planned multiple activities with the
residents for our State Day of Service Project.
We planned an upbeat Sit and Be Fit Z-HOPE Activity that got the crowd
moving! Following our warm up, we played
several rounds of Bingo which proved to be serious business! Prizes were awarded to residents which were
very well received.
Chapter
members had a great time. Just spending
time with these seasoned men and women was rewarding enough, but what was truly
rewarding was having the privilege to meet a Soror who was a resident of this
facility. Soror Sanders became a member
of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC in1951
which means she is a Zeta Dove. She was
excited that we were there and so proud to say that we were her Sorors. She was extremely sweet and grateful to have
the opportunity to fellowship with our chapter.
Not only have we adopted Summerset Assisted Living Facility, but we have
also adopted Soror Sanders. Whatever she
needs, Omicron Kappa Zeta will be there for her because that is what sisters
do!
