The Covington Zeta Youth Affiliate has hit the ground
running since their Amicette induction ceremony on November 15, 2014. Amicettes
interested in serving as an officer began planning their strategies. They developed and delivered campaign
speeches during the first meeting. After
the election, all officers attended training.
Under the watchful eyes of the two Advisors, Sorors Felicia Arnold and
Marilyn Barton, and the two Mentor Sorors Sherry Morris and Vicky Mitchell, the
eager Amicettes, twenty-one strong, quickly began to work with a three-fold
focus.
Serving the Community
They visited the Phi Omicron Zeta chapter adopted Eldercare
facility Riverside in Covington multiple times to deliver Christmas cards, paint
nails on a “Pamper Day” or just sit and talk to the residence. They visited the Phi Omicron Zeta Chapter
adopted school, Newton High school in Covington to deliver toys to the Toys-4-Tots
program.
Bonding with Each Other
These young ladies enjoy each others company. They attended a Newton High School basketball
game all donned in their lovely Amicette t-shirts. They also spent an evening having fun at
Chuck E Cheese, December 2014 and bowling on MLK, Jr. Day, January 2015.
Engaging with Phi
Omicron Zeta Chapter
The Amicettes are true partners with Phi Omicron Zeta
chapter. They performed a skit and a
liturgical dance honoring the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated founders
during the Phi Omicron Zeta chapter Founder’s Day / Get Engaged Program on January
17, 2015. The excitement of these young
girls is so high that Phi Omicron Zeta chapter is contemplating starting
Archonettes the upcoming sorority year.
