Service, Sorority, Fraternity Celebrated at Founders' Day Brunch

Metro Atlanta Chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. celebrated a joint Founders' Day with a brunch at 10 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 26, 2013 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel, 1615 Clifton Road in Atlanta. The Honorable Brother Carter D. Womack, 27th & 29th International President of Phi Beta Sigma was the guest speaker. The theme for the occasion is "Carrying the Torch of Brotherhood and Sisterhood."Passing the torch along to those the come after to be developed, promising, and responsible ‘servant leaders’ continues to be prevalent among the members of the fraternity and the sorority.
The organizations are unique historically because they are constitutionally bound. Through this joint observance of Founders Day, the two groups continue to demonstrate the sisterly and brotherly love that embrace a genuine and deep regard for the well-being and success of others. The program's focus was “Passing the Torch,”  that will inspire continuous positive actions in the community that foster the ideals of service, charity, scholarship, cultural activities and promote legislation for social and civic change.
