 Joint Founders Day Program Deemed Successful
 “Our Connectional Legacy Marches On”


Coastal Empire graduate and undergraduate chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. jointly celebrated our Founder’s Day Observance January 12, 2013 at Savannah State University Auditorium.  The Program was hosted by Bro. Phillip Wright and Soror Ruth Dobson.  Greetings from the Greater Pan Hellenic Council was delivered by Frater James Melvin.  We were entertained musically by our own Soror Esther Simmons, who blessed us in song for this special occasion. Our hostesses invited the audience to walk with us in through more than a quarter century of Sigma/Zeta impactful history!!!


We were then entertained by an original skit by Soror Rosa Jackson and Soror Omie Flournoy titled “Tribute to Our Founders”.  Sorors and Brothers characterizing the inspirational lives of three brothers and five courageous sisters, our Five Pearls, who stepped out on faith as our founders.  The program was capped with a Greek Medley in recognition of all Greekdom.  Local chapter Basileus Soror Lucille Bacon, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Bro. Brian Dawsey, President Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. recognized special guest, expressed appreciation to the community and presented a special donation to the May Street YMCA, a local youth organization.  Guests were treated to a lovely reception of elegance activities.
